- 9th of October 2007, In this lesson we thought up a few ideas for our thriller, we came up with a various amount of ideas we then put them together, and came up with a rough idea of what we will do.
I also made up my own beginning which fitted in nicely with Liam's idea.
- 16th of October 2007, In this lesson we will carry on with developing ideas.
In evaluation, we developed our ideas further, and came up with a rough sequence of how we will make the thriller, as in where the titles will go etc, we now have a good idea of what thriller we are going to make. We have also decided possible locations of where to place our thriller.
- 17th of October 2007, In this lesson we will work on magazine analysis.
We learnt about different styles of magazines and how/where they place pictures and titles etc.
We also learnt about titles and how they can be used in thrillers also, this included learning about Serif and Sans Serif etc.
- 23rd of October 2007, in this lesson we will update our research and planning file and hand it in at the end of the lesson.
This will include making notes for the file, treatment etc.
We have now updated the file and handed it in and completed most of the treatment.
- 24th of October 2007, in this lesson we will carry on with the coursework folder. We will complete the scripts for our thriller.
We completed the Scripts for our folder for the thriller and we also started the storyboard on Photoshop.
-5th of November 2007, me and Liam went to Carbis Bay to look for places that we could film for our thriller. We found 2 possible parks to film at but one of them looked more creepier so we decided we are going to use this one, also this park is more empty so it will be easier to film at. We also decided that we will no longer do the carving in the wood in a room, this scene will be a close up shot of the wood and we will film this in a room although the room will not be shown.
-6th of November 2007, we will write down places and choose talents to act in our thriller, we will ask these talents if they can act and on what days suitable, and then choose dates.
In this lesson we updated our treatment and chose talents to act for our thriller, we will now ask them and find out dates and I will give out questionnaires to people to fill out.
-7th of November 2007, we have found out that some of the talents will act in our thriller, we still need to ask the others. In this lesson we modified our story slightly to make it more thrilling, we also learnt about target audiences, this included Mass and Niche audiences. We are also currently making our thriller even more detailed and writing up the changes in bullet points in preperation for the storyboard.
-20th of November 2007, today we will starting our rough storyboard for our thriller film. We managed to complete the rough storyboard. The storyboard is 13 sketches long, with a picture, description and Audio and effects boxes.
-21st of November 2007, In this lesson we will carry on with our storyboard in rough because some of the sketches are wrong and more need to be added to the storyboard, also we found out that we needed to add more detail into the Description and Audio and Effects buttons.
-27th of November 2007, In this lesson we will carry on with the rough storyboard as it is still not fully complete and does not have everything completed in it, we still need to sort out what to write on the storyboard and get the correct shots based on feedback from out lecturer.
-28th of November 2007, In this lesson we will finish off the rough storyboard as there are still some changes needed to make from feedback from lecturers. We will then start the final storyboard and draw up all the pictures for the shots.
-11th of December 2007, In this lesson we will continue with the storyboard writing the descriptions, which we still had to make a few adjustments to and also finishing all the pictures neatly for the storyboard.
-12th of December, In this lesson we will completely finish the storyboard, pictures, descriptions and audio and effects. We completed this in this lesson.
-18th of December, In this lesson we will complete a storyboard for a short film the first short film that we will film, we will do exactly what we did for the real storyboard but a rough version only, this is to get practice of shots and storyboard before we film our own thriller, we will benefit from this as we will learn from mistakes and learn how to use camera's correctly.
-19th of December, In this lesson we will follow the storyboard we made for the short film. We filmed the short film and every shot went to plan and was the same as what we said it would be. Use of clapperboards and and a tripod was used in this film to see how many shots we took and the tripod made the shot steady. The short film went really well and we were proud of the outcome. We will not be able to edit this short film but will be producing another short film shortly that we can edit.
-8th of January, In this lesson we will plan a storyboard for a second short film that we will film in the next lesson. This will have to include a number of certain shots and the short film will be about a package between 2 people.
-9th of January, In this lesson we filmed the short film that we planned the storyboard for in the last lesson. This short film went to plan and we managed to get all of the shots we needed in it well, using the tripod correctly.
-15th of January, In this lesson we will be editing the short film that we filmed in the previous lesson. Edit program did not work, so I wrote up some notes in neat that were in rough.
-22nd of January, In this lesson we will try the editing program again. The editing program worked so we had a short lesson on how to edit, we were taught by our lecturer how to get our film from the camera onto the computer first. Then we were taught how to cut, fade, disolve, add other affects, put sound effects and music on and also render the edited part after.
-29th of January, In this lesson we will start editing our own short thriller to get used to the program. We've edited part of our short film, and we are getting used to the editing program that we will use for our real thriller. By using this program we have had good practice and now know what we will have to do when editing our own.
-5th of February, In this lesson we will cmotinue editing the short story and hopefully get it finished. We finsihed editing the short film and are proud with our outcome, we also showed it to some of the class for feedback.
